Dog Journal – Entry 161: That Park

adorable-1849992_640I really like going to the park, but one in particular is so much fun. My buddy and I have a grand old time playing there. And the best part is, it’s not just for walkies. In fact, there’s some neat stuff around to play on and other dogs to play games with.

The goods are good. My favorite thing is the tunnel. It’s probably because I can use it during the chase games we play. And not every dog can make it through there at high speeds like I can.

Leftover toys from previous visitors, oh yeah. That’s a really neat thing when it comes to showing up at the park. Even if you forgot your ball at home, there’s bound to be one somewhere, even if you have to spend a little time digging it up out of the mud.

Having other dogs around to add to the fun is really awesome too. I met a dog the other day that was so hyper it was impossible to understand a bark she was woofing. Whatever it was, it had to do with the bird in the tree making a funny song. Well, I pretty much came to the conclusion that she didn’t like the song, but I did and my pal did too. Whatever, we can’t do anything about a bird in a tree anyway.

Nope, we’re stuck on the ground, so we can dig just anywhere without getting in trouble! Even in the regular park I’m not allowed to do such things. But here, I can dig all the holes I want too until my paws get tired. There’s not really any cool treasure, but it’s good practice for looting later.

The water pool is totally cool, especially after a hot day of running and playing. You can totally get in the water and splash around and it’s okay. For reals, it does not count as taking a bath, so don’t worry about it.

Time to go? I think not! With all the other dogs around, it’s easy enough to escape the clutches of departure. Yes, if you’re really good, you can put off leaving for at least ten more minutes. Just remember to keep negotiating, because as long as you’re negotiating, you’re not leaving.

Back at home, it’s likely to be naptime, so rest up. And as long as you didn’t get too muddy, there’s no fear of a bath. And even if there is, just make sure you go into full nap-mode so your pal doesn’t get any wise ideas. So sweet dreams and have fun at your dream park!
