Nixi Adventure – Muddy Negotiations

mudflat-hiking-57666_640There was no way Nixi was getting in the tub on her own. You see, she was very comfy in her muddy attire. And while Brandon was to say the least, frustrated, Nixi was sort of having fun. This was primarily due to the fact that no one likes to scoop up a muddy dog and get themselves all dirty too.

Getting all messy was not what Brandon had planned on today. And mud was not exactly the attire he desired to show up with for his early morning meeting. So this situation had pretty much become a negotiation match. This primarily included treats.

But treats weren’t what interested Nixi at the moment. She knew she had her pal on the hook for some fun time rewards. Perhaps an afternoon at the park. Maybe even a really cool fluffy toy that was so huge she wouldn’t even be able to drag it around the house. All manner of ideas filled her mind. But her woofs sounded all the same to Brandon.

Brandon was frustrated with the whole situation. He was going to be late. It was almost assured that he was going to dress in mud. And this was all before eight in the morning. The day was not going right for him at all, and Nixi wasn’t helping in the least.

Nixi decided to chase her curly tail and dance around the kitchen floor again. This was mainly because it made more of a mess. Muddy tracks laced the tile floor, some spraying on the chairs and cabinet doors. She knew she could press her pal to give in to her demands if it seemed like time was running short.

Brandon stood in the doorway and made a face. Nixi wasn’t listening to him at all, and it was too early and short a cup of coffee for good ideas. But it hit him. Well, some mud hit him, but it was the idea that popped into his head that we should take under consideration. He raced back to the bathroom and grabbed the biggest towel in the cabinet. And then it was on.

Nixi continued to dance around the kitchen, yipping and laughing in her presumptuous glory over her pal. There were so many treats and toys she’d already had in mind, but things would not go quite her way.

The towel dropped and Brandon scooped up the mischievous pup. And with little time to spare, he raced her to bathroom and dropped her in the mildly warm water. It would have been just perfect had Nixi cooperated earlier, but now it was sending shivers down her tail.

You see, it’s not always about getting what you want. There are times when cooperation is the best way to negotiate a problem. And by the way, Nixi didn’t get that huge fluffy toy she wanted, and Brandon did still have mud on his collar when he showed up for his morning meeting.
